Jaguar MK IV

The Jaguar MK IV is actually a pre-war saloon. From 1935 the SS Cars ltd. built the S.S. Jaguar 1 1/2 litre and 21/2 litre. Already in 1937 the body construction with ash wood frame was changed to an all-steel body. In 1940 the production had to be stopped. In 1946 the car production could be resumed and the Jaguar, retrospectively named Mark IV, was built unchanged until 1948. The offered Jaguar was built left-hand drive for the European market. According to records it was registered in Belgium at the beginning of the sixties at the latest. There it stood in storage for twenty years at a tyre dealer, because the previous owner allegedly never paid for the new winter tyres. The last owner bought the "Barn Find" and had it completely restored in Belgium. A number of photos still exist of it. In the following years the MK IV followed its owner to Vienna, Berlin and London and spent the last years in Ticino. The Jaguar still has its original interior with lots of patina. It is fun to drive and accelerates, brakes and shifts well.
