Lancia Beta Montecarlo
The Montecarlo was originally developed by Pininfarina as a Fiat and built as a Lancia from 1975,
The small sports car was a modern design with a mid-engine, independent suspension and disc brakes. The two-litre four-cylinder engine with two overhead camshafts produced 120 hp with carburettor and enabled good driving performance. After only 5636 units had been built, production was discontinued in 1978.
Because a Group B car was being prepared in the form of the Lancia 037 Rally, which was visually based on the Montecarlo, a relaunch of the small sports car was recommended.
In March 1980, the new version was presented, which had been visually adapted to the Lancia brand image with a newly designed radiator grille. In two years, only 1940 units of the second series were sold.
The Montecarlo for sale is from the first series. The original colour is typical for the 70s. The car is in good condition with corresponding signs of use. It was inspected as a "veteran" in Switzerland in 2018.
