Citroen 2CV Spezial
The Citroën 2CV – known as the ‘Ente’ in Germany and Austria and as the ‘Döschwo’ in Switzerland – is one of the most famous minimalist small cars in automotive history. Over 5.1 million were built between 1948 and 1990, and it evolved from a purely utilitarian vehicle for the rural population into a global cult classic. The abbreviation “2CV” stands for deux chevaux (French for “two horses”) and referred to the French tax bracket at the time.
The first owner of the green 2CV drove 10,000 km in its first year. The second owner, a car collector, then put the Citroën into storage in 1988 and never drove it again. The almost new “Duck” is now waiting to be awakened from its slumber.
